POLICE RAID PROPERTIES IN MONEY LAUNDERING PROBE
As part of on ongoing investigations into money laundering, The Financial Investigation Unit of the Police Service of Northern Ireland has carried out a series of searches of private and business premises in County Down.
During a five day operation in the Bessbrook, Banbridge, and Newry areas police seized £10,000 in cash, a large amount of financial documentation and computer equipment.
Also during a search of a private residence, a small amount of class "A" drugs and class "C" drugs were recovered. One man has been charged with possession of class "A" drugs with intent to supply, and is due to appear in Newry Magistrates Court on 6 July.
